Description

2009-2010 has seen a quiet but historic transformation in BSC’s profile: this is the first academic year in which students can declare a GLBT Studies minor. This roundtable will address the following question: what should be our next steps in developing the GLBT Studies minor? At the moment, the minor is a fledgling, dependent on a small number of faculty members who, we hope, will continue to offer courses to serve it. How can we ensure that the minor will be sustainable in years to come? Which students does GLBT Studies serve? How can we advertise the minor to the current student population more effectively? How do we encourage more faculty to teach courses in the minor? How can we successfully advocate for the hiring of more faculty who have expertise in GLBT Studies?
