Abstract

Owen Lattimore’s life story and its relationship to the Eurasian Steppe offer an exciting story that can serve as the basis for teaching about the interactions and connections of Eurasia and China. This presentation will examine Lattimore’s unique perspective on China and Eurasia and suggest that Lattimore's ideas concerning zones of interactions as units of analysis are essential for teaching about China and Eurasia.
