Description

This presentation examines BSU students’ perceptions regarding online classes. A survey examining students’ beliefs, attitudes, and experiences with online classes was conducted in 2011 and reprised in 2016. In 2011, about 43% of the 774 students surveyed had taken online classes; in 2016, nearly 64% of the students reported having taken online classes. In 2011, only 26% of the students who had taken online classes had taken more than two, while in 2016 more than 50% of those who had taken online classes had taken more than two. Despite the increase in numbers of students taking online classes, and the increase in number of classes taken, no significant differences were found in students’ attitudes, beliefs or preferences between 2011 and 2016.
