Celiac disease is common in the general U.S. population, however prevalence and psychosocial consequences are unknown in collegiate athletics, which could compromise quality of care. We aimed to determine the prevalence of celiac disease in collegiate athletic populations in addition to studying signs and symptoms consistent with celiac disease and psychosocial indicators affecting quality of life. Results and clinical implications are discussed.
