Description
Having developed multiple cross-disciplinary diversity and social justice programs and initiatives, BSU is at the forefront of student success in public higher education. The Academic Diversity Action Planning Team (ADAPT) is a group of faculty members from various backgrounds and disciplines that has worked together since 2014 to create dialogue and engage in action focused on diversity and social justice issues that affect the success of both students and faculty. In this panel, we will discuss the history of ADAPT, explain our current projects and future goals, including research, and describe how our members have heightened the focus on diversity and social justice issues in the classroom, and on department and university levels. Following the presentation, members of ADAPT will conduct a talkback session to further explore ways we can help our university excel in these fields.
