This panel will explore the challenges of the Ebola outbreak. Particular emphasis will be placed on epidemiological approaches for disease tracing and surveillance to avoid future crises, the importance of the One-health approach to promote the well-being of humans, animals and the environment as a whole, the need for the advancement of basic science research on viruses and development of new technology, and the critical role of public health ethical principles in shaping global public health policies.
