Description
This presentation will reintroduce to the University’s faculty and administration, the world of Learning Assistance and its ever evolving form in the Academic Achievement Center (ACC). The presentation will not only review current practice, but will illustrate how close collaborations with faculty are the core to achieving positive student learning outcomes. Without consistent and pro-active faculty involvement in the recruitment of qualified tutors, and the referral of students who need help, the AAC’s Learning Assistance efforts would not be able to support faculty learning objectives in the classroom nor help students who need our attention. This presentation will provide a review of our current learning assistance model, data and student outcomes to illustrate what learning assistance is, how it works and how faculty are crucial to its success.
