Project Description/Abstract
The foundations of electrodynamics have been established for more than a century. Yet, from the beginning there have been alternative theories. This research work proposes to study the formulations of electrodynamics in two parts: the determination of the postulate on the velocity of light and the force equation between moving charges. In this research work, I plan to study the existing theories including the classical theory that must satisfy three criteria – the mathematical, postulational including the Gauss’ criteria, and the experimental verification. I propose to work on the mathematical analysis of the experimental data of Morley and Miller, and synchronization of clocks using the Global Positioning System.
