Project Description/Abstract
As a visual artist and a tenure track faculty member of Bridgewater State College it is important for me personally and professionally to produce new work and to actively pursue locations to exhibit my work. It is equally important to continually send out professional photographic material to be published or considered for exhibitions. With this comes an exuberant cost of having to buy ceramic and metal materials, pay entrance fees to juried competitions, hire a professional photographer, construct appropriate crates for shipping work in, hire a shipping company to deliver the work, and travel to attend openings and lecture. Recently, I have produced new work, photographed, copied slides and purchased material to ship work out for several pieces. I am applying for this grant to help alleviate the cost of some of the recent and upcoming shows, opening exhibits, conferences, and other events that I will be involved in this year.
