Project Description/Abstract
This proposal seeks funds to continue research on the music of Louis Vierne for the compact disc booklet that will accompany Volume four of “L’oeuvre integrale pour l’orgue de Louis Vierne” and to attend to the first performance, since the composer’s performance of this work during his American tour in 1927, of the Pièce Symphonique for organ and orchestra, in Haarlem, Holland. This performance of this work is coming to fruition as a result of my earlier research into Vierne’s music, as I provided the artist with a copy of the manuscript score.
