The conversation also touches on their experiences as student teachers and in their first teaching jobs after graduation.

The subjects detail their experiences as football players in those years, reminiscing about many of their fellow athletes, specific games played, their training and practice experiences, and the reception of the Bridgewater campus community to the football program. The interview includes discussion about the team’s first coach Edward Swenson and his successor Peter Mazzaferro. The subjects also relate some of their memorable experiences as Bridgewater State College students in the mid- to late-1960s, including a growing awareness of the Vietnam War and social movements of the time.

The BSC team, under Coach Harry Lehmann, played in the Southern New England Conference and in the New England State College Athletic Conference. The interviewees discuss their experiences under Coach Lehmann and relate memorable stories about team trips to Connecticut and New York. The former players also talk about their experiences playing in the summer Cape Cod Baseball League and in participating in other sport programs at the college.
