Abstract

At Framingham State University, the encouragement of research and scholarship is a rather recent movement on campus. I initiated, engaged and conducted in research scholarship in partnership with a faculty member in the English Department for 2 years. My research partner and I traveled to Korea and presented the research findings at the Society of Korean Oral Literature Meeting in 2009 and 2010. Relevant, but difficult topics including funding support and source, research credentials, and research project management will be examined and most importantly, the lessons learned will be shared for those who are interested in pursuing opportunities for research scholarship.
