Abstract

Bridgewater State University has established more than a dozen international exchange programs with universities around the globe. Among them, the exchange partnership in the Asian Studies Program has flourished particularly well. Countries involved in this program include China, Japan, South Korea, and Cambodia; relationships with several other countries are evolving. Through the Exchange, scholars from these countries have visited BSU and delivered lectures to the campus community and to individual classes. The scholarship they provide to our community is unique and invaluable. As an Asian Studies librarian, I have been capturing and preserving resources generated from this program with the goals of (1) augmenting the Asian Studies' collection at the Maxwell Library at BSU, (2) supplementing our teaching faculty's special curricular needs, and (3) promoting Asian Studies program. These and other benefits brought about by this effort will be described in this presentation as well.
