Description
Research is clear that formative feedback is critical to student development, regardless of discipline. The process of providing quality feedback can be time consuming and we may even wonder how much attention our students pay to our notes. We will share our work on the development of a FAT Feedback method for our pre-service teachers: Focused, Actionable and Timely. Professors, classroom teachers, peers and self-reflection are all sources of feedback to our teacher candidates as they pilot lessons in their first whole-group teaching experiences. We will show you how we collect and manage video data to support the feedback process as well as how we foster a learning community in which feedback is valued and built into the learning process.
