Description
Explore the promise and grief of vulnerability as a means of andragogy practice when faculty share professional or personal stories that can deepen student learning. The practical use of being vulnerable affords the educator to explore new ways to instruct. Though initiating the practice of vulnerability might bring about uneasiness when faculty begin exploring change with content that is familiar and particularly when teaching an area of unfamiliarity. Understandably, it is never easy to explore new territory; the exploration may leave faculty feeling unsure, out of control or anxious. Andragogy of vulnerability flexes professional practice which is not necessarily a linear path, but rather a continuum of infinite possibilities; as adult educators, this application has the capability to be transformative and unlock the paradox to actualize the goals of higher education andragogy.
