In this interactive workshop, the presenter will discuss a community project that was successfully implemented into her graduate class in the Fall. Graduate students were partnered with local and national schools to determine an informational need. The students completed research on this need and provided a product in which the schools could use to disseminate information about that need. This workshop will briefly examine the benefits of project-based learning. Examples of the students’ products and the rubric for the assignment will be shared. Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to brainstorm ways that they can design a project-based assignment with community partnership in their own classes.
