Description
The Dance Core Project is an innovative project that will offer concert dance performances to communities who do not normally have access to dance through portable clean energy lighting and sound equipment partnered with a portable dance floor. Opportunities to experience quality concert dance are rarely available outside major metropolitan areas in the United States due to inadequate or nonexistent performance spaces. In 2015 I finally identified the engineering partnership necessary to fulfill the technical components of the project. This small grant proposal seeks funding to travel to work with Dr. Leah Kelley to develop the clean energy component and create two to three technical drawings. These components will be part of a final document that includes all the specs for completion of Dance Core. This project is unprecedented in the contemporary dance field and offers an opportunity to create a highly innovative format for viewing dance.
