BSU’s Undergraduate Research Abroad Grants, supported jointly by the Minnock Center for International Engagement and the Office of Undergraduate Research, funds small groups of students led by faculty/librarian mentors in conducting scholarly work abroad. Recent grant recipients will share how they developed, with 2 to 4 students each, collaborative scholarly projects that revolve around three weeks abroad (including some that took place on or near the campus of a BSU partner institution)—to study the educational system in China and Hong Kong, the solar-power industry in China, water-filtration in Cambodia, literary and cultural history in Ireland, and elder care in Belize. Panelists will offer their recommendations for other faculty/librarians interested in designing Undergraduate Research Abroad experiences.
