With many more departments wanting to add learning assistance to "gateway" courses in their majors, sharing the success and failure of how to specifically launch PAL models of learning assistance is a timely topic. This presentation will include how to evaluate which courses are the right ones to target, how to engage colleagues and successful upperclass students to support the model and how to sustain the PAL model semester-to-semester and year-to-year.
