Description

This lecture recital, based on research done through a CARS FLRG, presents piano works by Maurice Ravel. Ravel was a 20th century composer of primarily works for piano, orchestra and chamber ensemble. His compositional style reflects that of the master craftsman assuring that every detail of the work has been perfected as well as an omnivore of music who comfortably borrowed from jazz, non-Western music and early Western classical music. This lecture-recital will include Le Tombeau de Couperin, Sonatine, and Pavane pour une Infante defunte.
