Description

Engineering is the study and development of the technological world. But, technology can be something as simple as the pencil you are writing with, the paperclip holding your notes together, or the process of canning fruit during the summer. Engineers develop technologies to solve problems. A major focus in the new national and state science education standards is engineering practices and building connections among engineering, technology, and science. This session will allow you to experience some of the engineering concepts that are being taught to BSU students and pre-service teachers in a science education course and introductory biology lab. We will showcase some of the ways we are introducing engineering concepts to pre-service teachers and other students throughout their time at BSU. We will also ask the audience to help us brainstorm ways we can enhance this across disciplines on campus.
