Description
An FLC is a small group of colleagues who meet over one or two semesters, typically every two weeks for 1.5 to 2 hours. The group focuses on one area of study, sets its own goals and often disseminates its results at the end. This presentation will demonstrate what an FLC can do for you, how to form an FLC and how to sustain it. The presenters formed an FLC at BSU focusing on “mindfulness.” They will briefly share the benefits gained professionally and personally by being members of an FLC as well as researched uses of mindfulness in varied academic disciplines. Join us to learn about starting your own FLC as well as experience mindfulness practices that we found helpful in our work together. At the end of this presentation you will walk away with ideas for your own FLC, and may have even started one.
