Description

This poster will share the outcomes from the current phase of an ongoing research project that was supported with a FLRG. This phase of the project explores multiple addictive behaviors amongst undergraduate student athlete population across Division III NCAA institutions across the North Atlantic Region. An instrument Multiple Addictive Behaviors Questionnaire (MABQ) was specifically created to assess multiple addictive behaviors during an earlier phase of this project. The MABQ is a self-report instrument that assesses common problematic and diagnostic addictive behaviors found in student-athletes across five key dimensions: gambling, substance abuse, disordered eating, excessive exercise, and alcohol abuse. This poster will share a background of the current phase of the research, methods employed, a summary of results, and various limitations that were experienced during the research process.
