Description
The Office of Teaching and Learning (OTL) is working hard to strengthen our academic culture and community. Among our ongoing projects and services are one-to-one faculty consultations and course observations, exploration of new scholarship, and a podcast project recording student experiences in different learning situations. The OTL is also helping to bridge departments so that best practices can be made public, as exemplified in the ongoing conversations between science and education faculties. This presentation reports on these four projects that look at how students best learn and how faculty frame and systematically investigate questions related to student learning. In addition to spotlighting significant activities in the office, half of this session entails gathering ideas, needs and experiences from participants to shape the mission and direction of the OTL in the coming academic year.
