Description
Fifty four BSC athletic training student alumni assessed the didactic and clinical components of the CAATE accredited Athletic Training Education Program (ATEP). Using a Likert scale, alumni assessed components of the core curriculum, clinical experiences, faculty competence and accessibility, the faculty members as mentors, and individual course evaluations. Although the majority of alumni felt appropriately prepared to enter the profession of athletic training, recommendations for improvement centered on more physician involvement in the program, use of higher level independent and critical thinking skills, and adding cadaver dissection to the required classes.
