Description

BSC is currently positioned to extend the availability of our courses and programs via the Internet to students for whom course scheduling conflicts, commuting, work schedules, and family commitments may pose obstacles to attending on campus classes. Last year, twenty-six faculty members were awarded Online Course Development Grants to help meet the growing demand for online courses. In this panel discussion, grant recipients will share best practices to engage students in high quality online learning experiences. Learn from faculty across a variety of disciplines how course components, ranging from content delivery to student assessment, change in an online environment. The panelists, who span the full spectrum from novice to expert in online teaching, will discuss their successes and the challenges they encountered when translating a course from fact-to-face to online formats. The presentation will include on-screen demonstration of grant recipients’ Blackboard course websites.
