Project Description/Abstract
This upcoming spring I will be on sabbatical. I have been invited to spend 6- 8 weeks to research and create a new body of ceramic work at The International Ceramic Residency Project in Fremantle, Western Australia (SODA). While there, I will interact with several internationally recognized artists, attend, and perform at several artist workshops. As a visual artist it is important for me both personally and professionally, to continually research techniques and artist trends associated in my field. It is equally important for me to continually produce and exhibit new creative work. This invitation is an exceptional opportunity for this. Although the SODA residency is an outstanding program, they do not provide artists with financial assistance. I am applying for this FLRG to allow me to participate in this residency opportunity and to exhibit new work created from this experience.
