Abstract
The article discusses the importance of using effective methodology in the classroom for student success. It is said that teacher decisions that impact learning are extremely crucial with the rigor of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS). Here, the authors use poetry to build vocabulary and also meet the CCSS for third grade.
