The mission of The College of Education and Allied Studies (COED) is to prepare professionals to function effectively within a society influenced by diversity and accelerated change. Founded by Horace Mann in 1840 as the first permanently sited teacher education program in the country, educator preparation is at the core of the College and of Bridgewater State University.
