Event Title

Plenary 5: The Emerging Bridgewater: Engagement and Opportunity

Location

Moakley Auditorium

Start Time

15-5-2008 2:05 PM

End Time

15-5-2008 3:05 PM

Description

A large institution with many new initiatives, Bridgewater State College is poised to emerge as a regional leader in higher education. But what exactly is emerging and how are we, individually, plugged into it as faculty? What connections exist between these seemingly disparate elements? Engaged student learning provides one way to conceptualize the relationships between these initiatives and the common values underlying them, and can also focus our attention on how these initiatives can be further institutionalized in the academic life of the college. This panel seeks to begin a campus discussion to help faculty understand how their particular interests fit into a broader, shared vision of excellence, and what institutional structures support or hinder that vision.
