Author Biography
Frances H. Maranger (she/they) is a Ph.D. student in the School of Gender, Feminist, and Women’s studies at York University in Toronto, Canada. Her area of specialization is feminist social theory that is informed by psychoanalytic, film, affect, and queer theories of subjectivity, embodiment, identity, sexuality, and infertility. Frances graduated from University of Toronto in 2015 with an Honours Bachelor of Arts with a double major in German Language Studies and Women and Gender Studies. In 2017, Frances graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with a Master of Arts in Cultural Analysis and Social Theory. Frances teaches Sociology and Gender Studies at York University and sits on the Gender and Sexualities development team for Progressive Connexions, an international and interdisciplinary foundation based out of Oxford, England.
