This session will provide information on how our institution has been utilizing iPads through a variety of approaches such as distributing the devices to each student for the semester who are enrolled in learning communities, using the iPads for one class session, and providing iPads to faculty for short-term and long-term use. Participants will learn how we manage the technology, administer a check-out process, and create classroom activities using the devices. In essence, the iPad class sets our institution is using function as mobile computer labs, providing students and faculty with access to easy to use digital production and research tools. Expect to learn not just about what apps to use in the classroom, but how to use the iPad to create an engaging mobile learning environment.
