Description

Despite our cynicism about attending endless meetings, we know that (more often than not) committees make better decisions than individuals acting alone and in isolation. How can academic information technologies harness the power of groups of teachers and groups of students to improve teaching and learning in the higher-education environment? Additionally, how can the dissemination of scholarship be improved (including the way that we deliver academic conferences)? Steven Park will discuss some of the factors leading up to where we are now, and where colleges and universities are going to deal with dramatic changes in collaborative technologies.

Steven Park is an educational technologist who teaches US history and maritime studies at the University of Connecticut. Next year he is leading study groups in the digital humanities at the University.
