One of the difficulties of distance-learning and online students can be the seeming disconnect from an absence of more regular face-to-face meetings. This is compounded in the difficulty faced in coordinating office hour visits generally, and advising sessions in particular. I will discuss my use of standard and free web conferencing software 7 programs that have brought a greater level of f2f contact with my students and advisees – no matter where any of us physically are.
