Abstract
The central bank in colony was founded in the process of establishing new monetary system in colony. And the central bank note was issued for applying money for development in colony. "Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation" was established in 1864 and issued Dollar and Chinese Yang note. "Taiwan Bank" was established in 1899 and issued Japanese Yen note. And the central bank played an important role in colonial rule and colonial industrialization. This paper tries to show the formation of "colonial monetary area" through the establishment of central bank and issuing central bank note.
