Samantha (Sammy) Carrington Balcanoff is a 2025 graduate of BSU who majored in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Victimology and minored in Social Welfare. She completed her honors thesis, an autoethnography, under the mentorship of Dr. Michael DeValve from the Department of Criminal Justice. After graduation, Samantha plans to pursue a master’s degree in Social Work with the goal of becoming a mental health counselor working in correctional facilities.
