Abstract/Description
As NBCUniversal has traditional roots in the broadcasting industry, it must evolve and adapt to stay relevant and popular among newer generations. To do so, NBCU must utilize social media. The purpose of this case study is to analyze NBCU’s social media methods to identify what strategies are effective for themselves and others in the journalism industry.
Note on the Author
Meghan Lotti (she/her) is a graduating senior and Departmental Honors student majoring in Communication Studies with a concentration in Public Relations. She also has minors in Management and Writing Studies. Mentored by Dr. Hui Zhang (Department of Communication Studies), Meghan conducted her research based on her interests in journalism and social media. By combining the two fields, she produced a case study that could benefit her own and others' understanding of the positive relationship that journalism and social media provide for each other. After graduating from BSU in 2025, Meghan will continue her studies at BSU for her Master of Arts in Public Relations. In the future, she hopes to pursue her goal of being a journalist or social media manager for a news outlet.
