Note on the Author

Elena Murphy is an artist and mother and finds inspiration all around her, especially with-in her own home. She works in many mediums, including painting, drawing, pottery, and embroi-dery. Her son has been her inspiration for many of her current works, as his presence has changed her role so profoundly.Elena is a teacher of the visual arts at the high school level. She is passionate about giving students hands-on experiences with art making in a variety of mediums and challenging them to think of themselves as artists. Elena earned her bache-lor’s degree through Bridgewater State University and is currently completing her Master of Arts in Teaching the Creative Arts.
