Description

In today’s culture, it is almost impossible to think of an aspect of the home Martha Stewart is not involved with. 67% of American women name Stewart as a key figure in establishing today’s booming lifestyle industry; Martha Stewart is the figure 53% of Americans first associate with homekeeping and the lifestyle industry.

This project explores the expression of the Martha Stewart lifestyle as articulated in Stewart-branded suburbs (Stewart has partnered with KB Homes to sell branded suburbs; 12 such developments span the US). Images of Martha-Stewart branded model, combined with analysis of promotional imagery for these homes, reveals how Stewart connects the "good life" to "good homes."
