Work/Life Balance?

Location

End Time

Description

The academic side of life is varied, and includes educating students, pursuit of scholarship, and service to the university. Our personal lives are also varied, and may include commitments to others, pursuit of personal goals, and as well as caring for ourselves. We navigate our professional and personal responsibilities to try to achieve a sometimes seemingly elusive sense of balance. Some members of the Faculty Advocacy Network (FAN), will begin a group discussion about navigating faculty life. We’ll consider such issues as: 1) adapting to the campus in the first few years; 2) change attitudes after tenure and promotion; 3) challenges and successes in trying to balance professional and personal goals. Panel presentations will be brief and much time will be allotted to audience participation.
