Description

The Art Slide Library Digitization Project is a multi-year collaboration between the Clement C. Maxwell Library and the Art Department. Working closely between faculty and staff of the Art Department and the Clement C. Maxwell Library, an initiative is underway to make the content of the 90,000+ slide library available in a digitized format for both pedagogical and research purposes. Once the content of the slides is scanned, the images are tagged using a rich metadata scheme that will allow them to be searched using keywords in an online database. Off-the-shelf hardware and software are being utilized to facilitate the project’s completion.
