Presenting Photography Series "Glacial Waters" at the New England Portfolio Reviews

Ivana George, Bridgewater State University

Project Description/Abstract

"Glacial Waters" is a body of photographs about water resource issues associated with climate change. Using the grant I printed a portfolio of 15 images on an archival cotton paper that was manufactured with wind power. I attended the New England Portfolio Reviews and presented my photographs to curators of museums and galleries, fine art magazine publishers, art critics and other art professionals in 9 one-on-one portfolio reviews over two days. I shared my work with the public for a one-night exhibition. The response to the work was very positive. Most reviews were full of interest and praise and I received professional criticism of my work that helped give me ideas for my next body of work. As a result of one of the reviews I was invited to exhibit my artwork at the Panopticon Gallery in Boston. The exhibit is open Sept 4, 2013 to January 14, 2014.
