Project Description/Abstract
The project “Opera on Video” will provide students in video production and in performance studies the opportunity to collaborate on creating a digital video of Gilbert and Sullivan’s one-act opera Trial by Jury. Working under the supervision of Dr. Jabbar Al-Obaidi, Professor Henry Shaffer, and Dr. Steven Young, the students will rehearse, perform, shoot and edit in digital video format during the Spring semester 2005. The final product will be available for screening by the BSC community. This project signifies an important step towards the application of modern technology to a classical form for the first time at Bridgewater State College.
