Description
My children make up elaborate stories all day, complete with set and costume changes. I have begun to collaborate with them; they let me into their stories and I let them into my art making process. We fall into the rabbit hole under the covers of my four-year old’s bed, we pack suitcases for journeys to Poland and Mexico, we are on the run from wolves. I chase these willful little people to get on jackets or to brush their teeth and find myself crying in a Target parking lot. This is a fleeting time, of fiercest love, tested patience and creative wonderlands, where my body is not my own. This work is about these complexities: the joy, the struggle and the life affirming magic that is parenting.
