Event Title

Location

Hart 115

Start Time

10-5-2018 12:30 PM

End Time

10-5-2018 1:00 PM

Description

Drug use/abuse has always been a public health issue. However, with an upsurge of opioid drug overdoses there is a critical need to increase levels of awareness about how the epidemic is progressing, particularly in our New England region. This session will address the trends and patterns (i.e. epidemiology) of the opioid epidemic and to discuss how surveillance can better target community needs and resource allocation as in the case of Narcan and treatment options.
