Description

The currencies our students allocate to their course work are time and attention. They may feel that it is rational to distribute these resources based on priorities they assign to each class or to exchange some studying time for time with friends or family, or time at paid employment. In this talk, I will explore how we can utilize insights from behavioral economics to achieve course and incentive structures that increase the likelihood of our students choosing to spend their time and attention resources on our course, and to spend those resources effectively, i.e. in ways that are likely to maximize their learning.
