Description

An exciting new Open Educational Resources (OER) pilot project has started at BSU, designed to improve student success by incorporating alternatives to traditionally published textbooks and course materials. Learn about the pilot project and the preliminary results from the BSU student and faculty surveys about the high costs of textbooks and OER awareness and usage. The panel will cover how to identify and access OERs, how to find professional development resources that improve the capacity to deliver a quality education to all students (including those with disabilities), and describe the benefits of building a collection of quality and accessible OERs that can be reliably used by all students and faculty. We’ll also cover how faculty can contribute to their disciplines by publishing and sharing their scholarship as OER.
