Description

Social media is a large part of a student’s day. According to a survey by Shweiki Media (2013), of those students surveyed, 40% checked Facebook at least six times per day, 63% checked Twitter at least once per day, and 33% checked more than six times per day. Our research focuses on students’ opinions on the use of social media in the classroom. To gain student insight, we conducted an exploratory research project using an online survey and asked students 1) Is it appropriate to use social media in the classroom?; 2) What types of social media should be used in the classroom?; and 3) For what purpose should social media be used in the classroom?
