Description

Since 2009, Bridgewater State students working under my direction have been excavating on the first terrace at the Middleborough Little League site. In addition to being an excellent field and laboratory training exercise for students seeking careers in cultural resource management, the site has also provided a wealth of information about the lifeways of Native Americans residing in the area over the past 6,000 years. Since I last reported on this project to the CARS Celebration, we have moved beyond the site survey phase to a more intensive investigation of individual features, including pits, a hearth, and a house floor. I will discuss these findings and indicate future directions for the project.
