Description

What is leadership in the 21st century? What are the traits of successful leaders in schools, businesses and in everyday life? In this panel discussion, we will highlight how certain leadership attributes contribute to success in various workplace settings and among BSU students. Globally, corporations are searching for leaders who can embrace challenge, cope with uncertainty, focus on what is truly important, and develop the leadership capacities of those who work for them. In schools today, shared leadership is the key to creating a school culture conducive to teacher professional growth and to student achievement. At BSU, the Student Leadership Institute endeavors to cultivate skills that can be applied in any setting. The mission of the Institute is to have students explore their personal philosophies of leadership. In this discussion, Todd will highlight leadership challenges for businesses. Phyllis will describe leadership trends in education and her work as a coach for the Student Leadership Institute.
